Punjab's final voter roll lists 2.01 crore electors after SIR
The Election Commission published final rolls for all 117 assembly constituencies ahead of Punjab's 2027 election. The June-to-final decline is a net change after new registrations, not a count of voters wrongly removed.

Executive summary
- Final electorate: Punjab's final electoral roll, published Oct. 12 for all 117 assembly constituencies, contains 20,100,727 electors. That is 1,360,316, or about 6.3%, below the 21,461,043 on the roll when the Special Intensive Revision began in June.[1][2]
- The draft-to-final comparison is different: The final total is 706,292 higher than the Aug. 13 draft, which listed 19,394,435 voters. Punjab's chief electoral officer said 797,263 new electors were added during the process. The net change from June therefore should not be described as a count of wrongful deletions or as the number of people removed from the draft.[1][2][3]
- Political response and next steps: Representatives of Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party and Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab expressed satisfaction with the completed state exercise, Hindustan Times reported. Eligible residents whose names are missing can apply through Form 6; publication of the roll does not prevent later enrollment under the stated process.[4][1]
Punjab's Election Commission published the final electoral rolls on Oct. 12 for all 117 assembly constituencies. The list contains 20,100,727 electors, compared with 21,461,043 on June 9, before the state's Special Intensive Revision began. The difference is 1,360,316, or roughly 6.3% of the starting electorate. The official roll and district publication notices establish the final list's availability; independent reports by The Times of India and The New Indian Express describe the count and process.[1][2][3]
That June-to-final comparison is a net change, not the number of names deleted. The draft roll published Aug. 13 contained 19,394,435 electors, already 2,066,608 below the June baseline. The final roll then added 706,292 to the draft total. Punjab's chief electoral officer said 797,263 new electors were enrolled during the process; additions and removals both affect the resulting count.[1][2][3]
The Election Commission's published total by itself does not establish whether every eligible person was retained or whether each removal was correct. Punjab's chief electoral officer said the review involved notices and hearings, and said eligible people who find their names missing can apply through Form 6. The Times of India reported that 35.49 lakh electors received notices and that 86,038 were marked ineligible after verification. Those are the authorities' account of the process; the roll totals alone cannot independently confirm each individual case.[2][1]
The final list also provides a state-level contrast to the wider dispute over India's voter-roll revisions. Hindustan Times reported that representatives of Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party and Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab said they were satisfied with the completed exercise. That reported response is limited to those state party representatives and does not resolve allegations raised by opposition leaders about the Election Commission's broader nationwide process.[4][5]
Punjab is scheduled to hold its next assembly election in 2027. The district administration's SIR page directs residents to the Election Commission's voter portal for the final 2026 rolls. The portal and local electoral offices remain the relevant places to check an individual entry; a statewide total cannot tell a voter whether their own name appears.[1][6]
